Peso Pluma has officially dropped off the follow-up to last year’s GÉNESIS. An impressive double-disc effort from La Doble P, ÉXODO spans a whopping 24 tracks and sees contributions from a star-studded slate of collaborators – including Cardi B on “PUT EM IN THE FRIDGE,” Quavo on “PA NO PENSAR” and Rich The Kid on “GIMME A SECOND.”
The first side of the two-disked project hones in on the sounds and styles of Pluma’s hometown. An infusion of reggaetón and other regional music, the project’s first half finds the artist in his zone. It spans 16 tracks and includes previously released singles “LA DURANGO” with Junior H and Eslabon Armando, “LA PEOPLE II” featuring Tito Double P and Joel De La P and “ROMPE LA DOMPE” with Junior H and Oscar Maydon.
Switch to the second disk and you’ll notice La Doble P dabbling in a range of new sonic spaces. He experiments in the electronic ether and continues to push the Latin trap envelope, enlisting a slew of heavy-hitter hip-hop heads like Cardi, Quav and Rich – as well as DJ Snake on “TEKA,” Arcángel on “PESO COMPLETO,” Anitta on “BELLAKEO,” Ryan Castro on “MALA” and Kenia OS on “TOMMY & PAMELA.”
Arriving just about a year after its predecessor, ÉXODO continues to cement La Doble P as a key player in the pushing the needle of música Mexicana in the modern day.
