Reggaeton has proven to be the genre to watch. Ahead of Peso Pluma’s first concert in Brazil, the Mexican singer teamed up with Brazilian artist Anitta on a sexy new track, “BELLAKEO.”
The track was released in tangent with the official music video, which gave dark and sultry visuals to complement Anitta’s sensual vocals and Peso’s rhythmic lyrics. The music video features the Brazilian singer dancing with her crew, dressed in all-black and appearing to perform a ritual on a man. “Bellakeo” loosely translates to being flirtatious and sexually aroused, hinting at just what Peso and Anitta could be singing about. Peso and Anitta sing about there urges and yearn for seduction.
In the song, Peso references Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Plan B and the famous tequila, Clase Azul. The video was filmed in Madrid and directed by Willy Rodríguez who has also produced music video for stars like Luis Fonsi, Alejandro Sanz and Romeo Santos. This is the first time Peso has teamed up with Anitta but Peso has proven he is no stranger to reggaeton. His track with Yng Lvcas, “La Bebe” was known to be one of the biggest reggaeton songs of the year. The track also comes hot off the heels of Anitta’s three-track EP Funk Generation: A Favela Love Story. Watch the video for “BELLAKEO” above.
