Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr reunite to perform "Sgt. Pepper's" and "Helter Skelter"

Surviving Beatles members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr reunited for a rare on-stage performance at the O2 Arena in London on Thursday, as the two teamed up to play “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)” and “Helter Skelter.”

The surprise reunion came during the encore of McCartney’s concert. “Should we rock?” McCartney asked Starr after welcoming him to the stage. “Get on your kit lah!”

Following their two-song performance, Starr remarked, “I’m off now but I’ve had a great night, love you all – especially this man.” McCartney added, “It’s fantastic, playing with me old mate, but there comes a time when we’ve got to go home.”

Thursday’s show also featured an appearance from The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, who joined McCartney for a performance of “Get Back.”

McCartney and Starr, along with late Beatles members John Lennon and George Harrison will soon be portrayed on screen in a quartet of biopics directed by Sam Mendes. Paul Mescal is reportedly set to portray McCartney, while Barry Keoghan will play Starr in the films, which are targeting a 2027 release.
