Paris Saint-Germain Fans Put on a ‘One Piece’ Luffy Display

Paris Saint-Germain Fans Put on a 'One Piece' Luffy Display

During a recent UEFA Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain F.C. and FC Bayern Munich, PSG fans put together an impressive display inspired by One Piece. Spanning across the stadium seats, fans held massive banners that show the titular character Monkey D. Luffy delivering his Gum-Gum Jet Gatling.

Panning during a video captured of the showing reveals a stretched hand appearing to land on a cracked Bayern Munich crest accompanied by “Bang” and “Pow” effects. Additionally, on the other side of the stadium is a banner showing a reimagined Going Merry ship flying the colors of Paris Saint-Germain. Unfortunately, PSG ended up losing the Round of 16 – Leg 1 of 2 match, 0-1.

For those unaware, One Piece is wildly popular in France with the first volume of the series selling over 1 million copies alone. The series has also sold 25 million copies since 2013, making up 8.3% of the entire French manga market.
