Paramount Pictures CEO Speaks on ‘Top Gun 3’ Possibility

Top Gun: Maverick has wholly smashed the box office, grossing a total of $569 million USD globally. The movie is on track to becoming Tom Cruise‘s best earner ever. Brian Robbins, President, and CEO of Paramount Pictures, recently describes the likeliness of a Top Gun 3 movie happening.

It has been 36 years since Tony Scott’s original Top Gun was released, and fans have certainly not forgotten about the movie despite the long wait. However, Paramount is seemingly not rushing to talk about a sequel. In a recent interview with Variety, Robbins stated that he doesn’t want to “speculate” on a Top Gun 3 and is happy to allow the current movie to hold the spotlight.

When asked if there is going to be a third Top Gun, the president promptly replied: “Let’s see where we are 35 years from now. I don’t want to speculate. This is an incredible run. The sky is the limit for this movie.”

In short, Robbins is pleased with the success of Top Gun: Maverick and has no plans for the franchise in the near future as of now. There have been speculations that the copyright claim earlier has held the studio back from further pursuing a third movie.

Elsewhere in entertainment, HBO cancelled Ridley Scott’s Raised by Wolves series after two seasons.
