Paramount+ Celebrates Star Trek’s 55th Anniversary With Eventful Livestream

Star Trek is set to celebrate the 55th anniversary of its television premiere of Star Trek: The Original Series in a two-hour livestream celebration on Paramount+.

The livestream is set to be hosted by Wil Wheaton and Mica Burton and is a free celebration that will feature conversations between the cast and creatives from over 10 different Star Trek stories. The event also promises surprise appearances and exclusive reveals.

The first-ever episode of Star Trek released on September 8, 1966. To commemorate the momentous occasion one of the six panels will be showcased during Star Trek Day will also include a special panel highlighting creator Gene Roddenberry, in honor of his 100th birthday. There will also be a live orchestra which will be led by jeff Russo, who also composed the theme songs for Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard. Other panels will feature the voice cast of the animated series and will involve discussions with Noël Wells and Eugene Cordero. Patrick Stewart, Jery Ryan, Wilson Cruz, Blu del Barrio and Ian Alexander will also be making an appearance.

The livestream promises to feature a series of “legacy moments” that will include iconic Star Trek cast members like Cirroc Lofton, Anthony Montgomery, Garrett Wang, George Takei and LeVar Burton.
