As OpenAI continues to improve its popular AI chatbot, upping its reliability and accuracy, it now also makes it more easily accessible, launching the ChatGPT app on iOS for users on the go.
The version of ChatGPT available on the App Store is free to use and syncs your conversation history across devices. It also integrates the open-source-speech-recognition system Whisper which enables transcription in multiple languages and translation into English, even with poor audio quality or excessive background noise.
For ChatGPT Plus subscribers, the app offers exclusive access to GPT-4’s capabilities, allowing for more accurate and detailed responses. Plus subscribers also get early access to new features and faster response times.
The rollout of the ChatGPT app for iOS is just the beginning. Following the initial rollout in the U.S., the company plans to expand to additional countries in the coming weeks, making the app even more accessible to people around the world. OpenAI also plans to release a ChatGPT app for Android users in the near future.
