NewComma is a pan-African portfolio platform for creatives to share their work and find jobs, and the fund is a monthly micro-grant to support an African creative with no strings attached.
The call applies to professionals and enthusiasts seeking financial support for their creative projects, providing a one-time contribution of £200 (about $250) to help initiate or sustain these projects.
To date, the fund has awarded more than $5 000 to over 20 recipients across the continent.
Last month, UK-based cultural strategist, activist and spoken word artist Tito Mogaji-William was named the latest NewComma Creative Fund recipient. Other past winners of the grant include Kenyan musician Mau From Nowhere and Nigerian filmmaker and photographer Tantolohun Ayanda.
