Open call: Music industry internship in Nigeria

The initiative forms part of the AMAKA Creator Grant, spotlighting and supporting creators through monthly themed content creation opportunities. Creators are awarded monthly based on the alignment of their content with the designated theme, utilising an annual budget of $12 000.

The latest opportunity is open to anyone with a passion for music and a willingness to learn. It offers hands-on experience in marketing, campaign crafting, event participation, trend analysis, and more.

The internship involves attendance at meetings with artists, concerts and album/music listening events. Applicants must be based in Lagos, Nigeria, for the internship duration. 

Preferably, applicants should have completed one to two internships already. No age restrictions apply.

How to apply

Interested applicants must:

  • Submit a video application (max 3 minutes) showcasing personality and passion. 
  • A well-written essay (1 500 words max) highlighting their skills and career goals via a free AMAKA account. 
  • Include a link to the CV detailing previous experiences and achievements.

NOTE: Content must be original, plagiarism-free, and adhere to community guidelines, avoiding offensive or explicit material. 

The grant runs till 19 June. Winners will be announced post-grant period, with winning content featured on AMAKA’s website and social media channels.
