One reportedly feared dead, many injured as traders and touts clash in Lagos market

At least one person has been reportedly feared dead and several others injured following a clash between touts and traders at Alaba International Markek, Lagos State.

The confrontation, which began in the early hours of Wednesday, October 19, led to the closure of the market as traders refused to open.

Details of what led to the clash are still sketchy but reports have it that trouble started when the traders in the early hours of the day protested the ‘illegal way’ the touts collect money from them when they are offloading their goods.
