‘One Piece Film: Red’ Releases New Official Trailer

‘One Piece Film: Red’ Releases New Official Trailer

Following a teaser revealing Navy and World Government characters, One Piece Film: Red now premieres a second official trailer and new poster visuals. The upcoming film takes place on the “Island of Music” Elegia, where the world’s greatest singer, Uta, plans to hold her first-ever live concert.

Pirates and Marines from around the world gather to hear Uta’s voice which is said to have the power to change the world. Uta is introduced as the daughter of the legendary red-haired pirate Shanks, which Luffy loudly proclaims in front of a packed-out stadium in the trailer. “As long as I sing, everyone will be peaceful and happy!” Uta is heard saying.

Additional updates reveal that a new original character named Gordon, said to know a lot about Shanks’ connection with his daughter Uta, will be voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda (Nanami in Jujutsu Kaisen) Meanwhile, Uta will be played by Kaori Nazuka (Shimizu in Haikyuu!!) with her singing scenes and theme songs voiced by rising J-pop star Ado.

The project will be supervised by One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda himself and directed by Goro Taniguchi who was the first person to animate the series’ main protagonist Luffy.

One Piece Film RED will open in Japan on August 6 and the full movie soundtrack will be released shortly after on August 10. Take a look at the second official trailer above and the new movie poster below.

Elsewhere in entertainment, Temuera Morrison hopes Boba Fett will return to “His Bad*ss Ways” from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
