WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. – Worcester County health officials are encouraging families to prioritize their wellbeing in the new year.
Healthy Worcester Families is a new program that’s set to launch on January 9th.
Over a nine-week period, families will learn skills to cultivate healthy habits in their homes, through activities and group meals.
Parent Educator at the Worcester Health Department, David Baker, said it’s a great way to get parents and kids together, in an environment that promotes learning healthy lifestyle habits.
“It kind of takes the next step in terms of helping them understand the communication and the bond with each other, because a lot of times we don’t think about it, and sometimes you have to actually be intentional about it,” Baker said.
Participants will meet every Tuesday, from 5 – 7 pm at Worcester Youth and Family.
Officials are also looking to add a Pocomoke class location as well. If you’re interested in registering your family, you can call Lynn Suarez at 410-632-1100 ext. 1109.
