London-based tech brand Nothing has engineered a new program to allow users to create their own “visual ringtones.” The tool is called Glyph and will allow both owners of the Phone (1) and the upcoming Phone (2) to compose a ringtone that not only acts as a soundtrack but corresponds to LED lights on the back of the phone.
Those feeling creative can compose their own ringtone or they can select from an assortment of pre-recorded tunes by Swedish House Mafia. Nothing collaborated with the EDM supergroup to design an exclusive sound pack of new music mixed by Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso.
“We’re excited to have collaborated with the Nothing team in London to launch a smartphone innovation that brings the worlds of music and tech ever closer,” Swedish House Mafia said. “All three of us have been fans of Carl Pei and Nothing’s vision since the beginning, and we are proud to be the first creatives to unleash a Glyph Composer sound pack into the wild. We can’t wait to see and hear what our fans and Nothing users remix. ”
The Glyph Composer will officially launch in tandem with the Phone (2) on July 11. The Swedish House Mafia sound pack will be available throughout summer 2023.
