After revealing the product earlier last month at designer Chet Lo‘s Spring/Summer 2023 runway show, the Nothing Ear (stick) has now received an official release date. While specifics have yet to be revealed, ACRONYM founder Errolson Hugh recently offered a closer glimpse at the product. The short clip featuring Hugh in a parking lot reveals a twist-to-open design with the earbuds housed and removed via the sides panels.
Nothing Ear (stick)’s cosmetics-inspired cylindrical carrying case features clear exteriors with white molded interiors capped in red. Relatively speaking, it appears that the original Nothing Ear (1) model will be positioned similarly to the Apple AirPods Pro while the Ear (stick) is expected to arrive as a more affordable tipless option similar to the regular AirPods with an overall design that remains largely unchanged. The cylindrical case brings into question the compatibility of wireless charging and the lack of ear tips also may mean there may not be active ANC, which are both available with the Ear (1).
According to Nothing, the upcoming offerings are “half-in-ear true wireless earbuds that balance supreme comfort with exceptional sound, made not to be felt when in use. They’re feather-light with an ergonomic design that’s molded to your ears. Delivered in a unique charging case, inspired by classic cosmetic silhouettes, and compactly formed to simply glide into pockets.”
Look for the new earbuds to release online October 26 at 10 a.m. EDT and stay tuned for more details.
