Hot on the heels of his Four Seasons EP, as well as his collaborative effort with Graham Lake on “Run em Down,” North London artist Avelino is back with two new singles, “Mercedes Coupe” and “Magick.”
With the two new tracks embracing the darker approach to music A.V. has had in recent times, “Mercedes Coupe” underpins a slow-rolling production from R Lo and Bambz, making room for Avelino to deliver his fast-paced punchlines that touch on his music success and the past stories of being followed by the police. The accompanying single “Magick” uses 169’s bass-heavy instrumental to show a more reflective side to the artist, preaching the appreciation for second chances in life.
“‘Mercedes Coupe’ and ‘Magick’ are about the finer things in life,” Avelino told HYPEBEAST. “I’m still fascinated by the power of the mind and my mission is to help people take control of theirs.”
It’s still uncertain if this double-drop is leading to a longer project from Avelino. But with the last full-length project from the North Londoner being 2021’s Ego Kills mixtape, we can hope that the next one is coming soon.
