The Rolling Stones enlisted Emmy-nominated actor Paul Mescal from Hulu’s Normal People for their latest music video “Scarlet” out today (Aug. 6).
Directing duo Us, comprised of Chris Barrett and Luke Taylor, filmed the clip while following social distance guidelines at London’s iconic Claridge’s hotel. A dapper Mescal drunkenly dances around his hotel room and lobby while recording an apology video to Scarlet, the titular love interest, and mouthing the lyrics of the legendary U.K. rockers’ previously unreleased track.
The 24-year-old Irish actor received his first-ever Emmy nomination this year for outstanding lead actor in a limited series or movie for his role as Connell in the Hulu drama TV series Normal People.
“Scarlet,” featuring instrumentals by Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page and Blind Faith’s Rick Grech, came out July 22 ahead of The Stones’ deluxe reissue of their classic 1973 No. 1 album Goats Head Soup, which can be pre-ordered here. The multiple-disc standard and deluxe CD and vinyl sets will officially arrive on Sept. 4 via Polydor/Interscope/UME.
