Nissan Unveils Special-Edition GT-R T-Spec in “Midnight Purple” and “Millennium Jade”

Nissan Unveils Special-Edition GT-R T-Spec in “Midnight Purple” and “Millennium Jade”

Nissan has unveiled the all-new 2021 GT-R T-Spec, a special-edition model destined for the United States of America that pays homage to two of the Japanese marque’s most revered Skyline models.

Immediately differentiating the T-Spec from the GT-R Premium — and subsequently slotting above the latter in the GT-R’s ranking — is its paint choices. Available in either “Millennium Jade” or “Midnight Purple,” the limited-edition pays homage to both the R34 GT-R V-Spec II Nür and the R34 V-Spec respectively. Notably, just 718 V-Spec II Nür units were produced and only 156 carried the “Millennium Jade” hue, and the T-Spec will now mark the first time this color has been offered in the States.

As for “Midnight Purple,” it famously graced the R34 V-Spec (among other Skylines) and has appeared once on the modern GT-R as a rare “Midnight Opal” offering. However, this is not all, as the T-Spec also gets a special “Mori Green” interior clad in semi-aniline leather alongside pearl suede accents, a quilted Alcantara headliner, and additional T-Spec badging.

Powering the GT-R T-Spec is the hand-built twin-turbo VR38DETT 3.8-liter V6 engine that produces 565 HP and 467 lb-ft of torque, powering all four wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends the car to 62 MPH in around 2.9 seconds. Elsewhere, we find wider front fenders taken from the previous GT-R Track Edition, gold-painted RAYS forged aluminum-alloy wheels and a carbon fiber rear spoiler, as well as carbon-ceramic brakes with accents from the GT-R NISMO, black hood ducts, and lastly, T-Spec badging all around.

The Nissan GT-R T-Spec is coming to North America in limited quantities this winter and will cost from $138,490 USD. Take a closer look at the car above.

Elsewhere in the automotive world, Subaru has unveiled the 2022 WRX.
