Nissan‘s NISMO division doesn’t just rework cars like the GT-R and the 370Z, it also gets its hands dirty with daily drivers such as Note Aura.
This new Note Aura NISMO is exclusive to Japan and draws from the Formula-E-inspired design concept while incorporating the NISMO spirit. With this in mind, the electrified car (which uses a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that powers two electric motors driving the front wheels) produces 134 HP and 221 lb-ft of torque, which while they may not be hot hatch figures, are still impressive for a small hybrid.
However, NISMO’s treatment is more about aesthetics and aerodynamics than power. As a result, a double-layered wing has been added using the red and black NISMO palette, plenty of new NISMO badges appear, and “wide-rim 17-inch aluminum wheels with high aerodynamic performance” have also been fitted.
A diffuser and rear bumper redesign appear alongside accentuated side skirts with red trim and red wing mirrors, while the front hood now sports a matte black segment running through the middle to add to the sporty look. Inside, bucket seats are covered in fabric and synthetic leather and continue the NISMO theme with embroidered branding and red stitching, while new drive modes have been added (NISMO, Normal, Eco) for optimized driving dynamics.
Rounding out the Nissan Note Aura NISMO is an overhauled suspension tune to better the handling and improved downforce all around. Take a look at the car above, and find out more on Nissan’s website.
