From Me to You, NIGO‘s personal archive sale in partnership with Pharrell‘s JOOPITER digital auction house saw quite the array of sought-after and unseen apparel, accessories, home goods and everything in between. The white glove auction came to a triumphant close on Friday, selling all 60 of the for-sale lots – with 80% of them selling over the expected high estimate.
Final sales totaled 359% above the total low estimate, a total of $623,000 USD higher than the intended profit. From Me To You, JOOPITER’s sixth auction, also reached an all-time high in terms of global participation, bringing in bidders from 15 countries. 685 total bids were cast, making for an average of 11.4 bids per lot, with the top two lots seeing 41 bids each.
Standout lots include the Vintage McDonald’s Hawaiian Uniform Shirt, which was estimated to go for somewhere between $200-$300, and ended up selling for a whopping $7,500 USD – a 37.5x low estimate. The Kanye West-signed BAPE STA College Drop Out Sneakers went for a slight $100,000 USD (a 20x low estimate from its intended $5,000-$7,000 sale price) and the coveted Hermes Orange H Clemence Leather Birkin 55 with Palladium Hardware sold for $27,500, making for a 3.4x low estimate from its $8,000 USD – $10,000 USD estimate.
The custom Jacob & Co. drip did better than expected as well, with the White Gold & Diamond Running Dog Pendant & Diamond Gucci Link Chain selling for $275,000 (compared to its $20,000 USD – $30,000 USD estimate) and, the most expensive item of the auction, the Jacob & Co. White Gold & Diamond Billionaire Boys Club Astronaut Pendant & Diamond Chain for $325,000 USD versus an estimated range of $50,000 USD – $70,000 USD.
