Nigel Howlett is a London-based artist whose surreal figurations comment on the nuances of daily life. For his latest release, Howlett created a sculpture that is a fitting response to the pandemic. EVERLASTING is made in conjunction with Case Studyo, who amongst their many artist collaborations, recently linked up with Joakim Ojanen.
Primarily working in a black-and-white monochromatic aesthetic, Howlett’s work centers around a faceless character who is dressed in a slightly futuristic body and placed in strikingly cinematic and minimal compositions. In EVERLASTING, the nameless protagonist is depicted in utter despair, which is further emphasized by the blackened bronze material that the sculpture is cast in.
The artwork is an edition of eight, plus five artist proofs. Cased in a collectors box with a certificate signed and numbered by the artist, the sculpture sizes at 11.02 x 10.62 inches. EVERLASTING has sold out, but stay tuned to Case Studyo’s calendar of releases by visiting their Instagram.
