Nicolas Cage Announces Timeline for Retirement

Nicolas Cage has hinted at the possibility of retirement. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the long-time Hollywood veteran, known for his roles in films like Wild At Heart, Moonstruck and more discussed the ending of his film career.

Telling the publication, Cage said, “I may have three or four more movies left in me. I do feel I’ve said what I’ve had to say with cinema. I think I took film performance as far as I could…I do want to get much more severe and stringent in my selection process…I want to say bye on a high note.” Turning 60 in January, the actor shared that his father died at age 75, leaving him to think about his timeline as he nears the same age his father once was, “If I’m lucky I have maybe a good 15 years and hopefully more. What do I want to do with those 15 years, using my father as the model? It occurred very clearly to me that I want to spend time with my family.”

If it’s just three or four films more from Cage, it might be sooner than audiences can expect. This year alone, he released five films, The Old Way, Renfield, Sympathy for the Devil, Dream Scenario and The Retirement Plan. It remains to be seen what else Cage has up his sleeves.
