A prequel series to HBO‘s series adaptation of The Last of Us is definitely possible, says guest star Nick Offerman.
The 53-year-old actor, who recently won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his role in the HBO series, revealed that conversations surrounding the prequel series have already taken place. “It certainly has been pitched. I think we pitched a whole mini-series of a prequel of their lives before they meet each other,” Offerman confirmed just after winning his Emmy, even joking, “It could be a musical.” He added, “We’re not short on ideas. We’ll just see what [co-creators] Craig [Mazin] and Neil [Druckmann] come up with.”
He also shared that he is more than open to reprise his role as Bill, “I was lucky this time. They needed a guy who could use a shovel. Three of us in Hollywood, Harrison Ford passed, and Jane Lynch was not available.”
Offerman’s Bill and Murray Bartlett’s Frank were the focus of the show’s third episode, which took a deep dive into their relationship and offered a loving, human touch in the chaos of the pandemic.
