The singer also announced Saturday that his new single, “Spaceman,” will premiere on Feb. 25. Jonas teased the forthcoming song on social media, alongside a rugged photo of himself standing on rocky terrain. “The countdown begins now…,” he captioned the post.
Jonas last graced SNL‘s Studio 8H as musical guest in 2016, with Julia Louis-Dreyfus serving as the host. At the time, he was promoting his third album, Last Year Was Complicated. Since then, he reunited with the Jonas Brothers for the sibling trio’s 2019 album, Happiness Begins.
Jonas’ upcoming SNL appearance marks his first time hosting the show.
This week’s SNL, meanwhile, features Bad Bunny as musical guest and Bridgerton star Rege-Jean Page as host.
Jonas’ upcoming SNL appearance arrives before the March 1 season premiere of NBC’s The Voice, where he’ll return as a coach alongside Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Blake Shelton. Jonas first joined the singing competition series in season 18, but was replaced by Gwen Stefani for the following season.
“Warriors never sleep. I’m back and ready to win this thing,” Jonas tweeted last fall about his return. “See you next season on @nbcthevoice!! PS – Hope you’ve been training @blakeshelton @kellyclarkson @johnlegend…. #TheVoice.”
