Mob Land director Nicholas Maggio first saw Quentin Tarantino’s directorial debut, Reservoir Dogs, at the tender age of 13 — and it was the coolest thing he had ever seen. As his own career in film developed, his affection for it has only grown.
On this episode of The Spark Parade, Maggio talks of revisiting the film as an adult and being awestruck by the audacious storytelling, novel plot devices, and incredible performances. It’s had a profound impact on his career path and provided endless inspiration for his own work.

“I can watch Reservoir Dogs tonight and get something completely different out of it than when I was 13 and that I will when I’m 60,” he explains. “I think that’s what’s so fun, the subjectivity of art. It has everything to do with perspective and where you are and what you’re feeling.”
