Nicholas Brendon Arrested for Prescription Drug Fraud

Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Nicholas Brendon has been arrested for prescription drug fraud after being found in possession of pill bottles prescribed to individuals other than himself.

TMZ reports that Brendon, 50, was pulled over by Indiana police last week after he failed to signal and swerved into different lanes. According to an affidavit, officers say they observed Brendon sweating profusely and appearing “nervous due to a visibly racing pulse on his neck and shaking hands,” which prompted them to search his vehicle.

Officers found several small plastic bags with “crystal/powder residue” as well as prescription drugs listed for “Nicholas Bender” and “Kelton Schultz.” Kelton Schultz is the name of Brendon’s twin brother, and Brendon initially identified himself as such to officers, even presenting them with a California ID with Schultz’s name.

When officers asked Brendon why he lied about his identity, he told them that he and his brother “have the same prescription and they fill each other’s prescription.” Brendon eventually admitted to taking the drugs prescribed to Kelton.

Brendon was arrested and charged with prescription drug fraud and failure to identify. His arraignment is set for Monday.

According to Radar, Brendon is currently on probation for a domestic abuse incident involving his girlfriend in 2017.

Brendon played Xander Harris on all seven seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He also had a starring role on the CBS series Criminal Minds.
