New Trailer for ‘God of War Ragnarök’ Teases Epic Showdown Between Kratos and Thor

New Trailer for ‘God of War Ragnarök’ Teases Epic Showdown Between Kratos and Thor

Sony first announced God of War Ragnarök, the ninth overall installment in the God of War series, back in September 2020. Although the game was originally scheduled to debut in 2021, its release was ultimately pushed back due to the pandemic, as well as the recent health issues of Christopher Judge, the voice behind protagonist Kratos.

Nearly two years later, Sony shared another trailer for Ragnarök at its State of Play showcase as it gears up for the game’s long-awaited release.

Set three years after the previous iteration in the franchise, the new story trailer for Ragnarök kicks off with Kratos being insulted by his adversaries, who refer to him as a false god.

It then appears that his own son, Atreus, is keeping a secret from him. While Atreus maintains that he can’t tell Kratos, he simply needs his father to trust him. The video culminates in a brief cut of what looks to be a fast-paced battle between Kratos and Thor.

Ragnarök is intended to be the final installment in the Norse saga, but probably won’t be the last God of War game overall. The title is slated to release on Ragnarök for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on November 9.

In other gaming news, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been announced for 2023.
