To accompany her ongoing retrospective at the Cooper Hewitt in New York City, prolific designer Es Devlin worked with longtime musical collaborator Polyphonia to release a vinyl record that encompasses the soul beneath her practice.
Dubbed An Atlas of Es Devlin, the 180-gram heavyweight white vinyl features 20 of her most memorable soundscapes, including unique voiceovers by the artist, that recount personal stories and poetry. Tracks include the soundtracks to Devlin’s A Forest of Us (2021), a maze of mirrors and light installations that exhibited several years ago at Superblue in Miami. Additional standouts include BLUESKYWHITE (2021) at 180 Studios, London, and newer works that are currently on view at the aforementioned show in NYC.
Produced by the Vinyl Factory, the record features a gatefold sleeve with a special mixed fluorescent orange cover, four page booklet on 150gsm silk art, as well as graphic design by Devlin herself. For those looking to add to your collection, An Atlas of Es Devlin is limited to an edition of 500 and available to purchase online for ₤25 GBP / $32 USD.
