The latest Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny TV spot, which premiered during the Super Bowl LVII, is hinting at even more action.
The 30-second teaser gives fans a closer look at the de-aging technology used on Harrison Ford, who returns as the titular character after 15 years. It also shows co-star Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who portrays Indy’s granddaughter, rescuing Jones as they jump from a crashing plane.
In a recent cover story with The Hollywood Reporter, Ford revealed that he wasn’t really on board with getting de-aged until he saw the final product. “I never loved the idea until I saw how it was accomplished in this case — which is very different than the way it’s been done in other films I’ve seen,” he shared. “They’ve got every frame of film, either printed or unprinted, of me during 40 years of working with Lucasfilm on various stuff. I can act the scene and they sort through with AI every f*cking foot of film to find me in that same angle and light. It’s bizarre and it works and it is my face.”
Joining Ford and Waller-Bridge are Antonio Banderas, John Rhys-Davies, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Olivier Richters, Ethann Isidore and Mads Mikkelsen, with James Mangold directing the film, Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel producing and Steven Spielberg and George Lucas executive producing.
