A new biopic about the last few years of Amy Winehouse‘s life is currently in the works over at Halycon Studios.
According to reports, the upcoming biopic will follow Daphne Barak’s 2010 book, Saving Amy. The author finished the book with the late artist and her family during the last three years of her life, and is based on “40 hours of footage, exclusive photos and notes” taken from six months of filming. Barak will serve as the biopic’s executive producer; a director is yet to be announced.
“Our team is honored to be working on this project. Although her career was cut far too short, Amy was the voice of a generation and we look forward to telling her story in the most poignant way possible,” Halcyon Studio CEO David Ellender said in a statement.
Stay tuned for more info on the upcoming biopic.
