Player 456 is back for another go-around in Season 2 of Netflix’s Squid Game. Today, director Hwang Dong-hyuk offered the most extensive look yet at the forthcoming season with a new teaser trailer that premiered at Lucca Comics & Games, Europe’s biggest Comic Con. The teaser can also be streamed in full below.
Squid Game Season 2 sees Lee Jung-jae reprising his role as Seong Gi-hun, a.k.a. Player 456, as he seeks to find the people behind the Squid Game and put an end to their vicious sport. “But when his efforts finally yield results, the path toward taking down the organization proves to be deadlier than he imagined: to end the game, he needs to re-enter it.”
Also returning for Season 2 of Squid Game are cast members Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo. New episodes will premiere on December 26th, 2024.
A third season of Squid Game — which will also mark the series’ final season — will air in 2025.
