Netflix’s ‘Mr. McMahon’ Docuseries Explores the WWE Mogul's Controversial Reign

Netflix has released a trailer for its docuseries on Vince McMahon, the co-founder of WWE. Entitled Mr. McMahon, the show traces how McMahon set the company up to have a monopoly on the wrestling industry, but ultimately stepped down in 2022 following claims that he had made hush money payments to former WWE employees he had affairs with.

He returned as an executive chairman of WWE the following year and remained in the role when WWE merged with UFC to form TKO Group Holdings (TKO). Earlier this year, McMahon resigned once again after the FBI launched an investigation into him after another former WWE employee alleged he sexually trafficked her.

Mr. McMahon was compiled using over 200 hours with McMahon, recorded prior to his resignation, along with some of his family members and business associates. Pro wrestlers such as John Cena and Dwayne Johnson also offer commentary.

“The lines of reality are very blurred in our business, the individual loses all sense of who they really are,” McMahon says in the trailer.

Bill Simmons of Tiger King directed Mr. McMahon. The six-part series premieres on Netflix on September 25.
