If you’re looking to subscribe to Netflix‘s upcoming ad-free tier, it now appears that you might be able to watch new movies without being interrupted. According to a new report from Bloomberg, Netflix will not be implementing ads when streamers are watching movies that are newly released in an attempt to keep the platform attractive for filmmakers who might be afraid that audiences would be put off by mid-film interruptions.
However, once a film has been out for a while, the company will be inserting ads into it, although there’s no clear timeline yet on how long that ad-free premiere period will be.
If you’re a parent, you might also be relieved that Netflix has apparently decided to refrain from advertising to children. The report suggests that the streaming platform has taken a page from Disney+ and its own upcoming ad-supported tier, which announced that it won’t be placing ads for kids’ shows due to ethics concerns. Of course, Netflix has yet to officially confirm any of these decisions itself, so those interested in subscribing to its ad-supported tier should stay on the lookout for more updates to come from the streaming giant.
