Netflix’s hit television series The Witcher has built a cult following since its debut on the streaming service in 2019. As a prequel to the popular book series established by Andrzej Sapkowski, the network will premiere a new spin-off from the series, titled Blood Origin.
Set for a Christmas Day release, the news was shared via Netflix’s ‘Geeked’ Twitter page:

With the caption “Gather your clan,” the tweet depicts an image of two hands wielding two opposing weapons. The new series will further examine The Witcher’s storyline of monsters, humans and elves interacting in a fantasy realm – with only four episodes slated to air. Cast members will include Michelle Yeoh and Minnie Driver, with Driver’s voiceover used to help guide the plot along.
The new Blood Origin series will air on December 25, while the original Witcher series will return to Netflix in the Summer of 2023.
