Adam McKay — who’s notable for directing films like Step Brothers, the Anchorman movies, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and more — is ready to unleash his newest body of work titled Don’t Look Up. The forthcoming film features a star-studded cast and includes industry icons such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet, Kid Cudi, Jonah Hill, Jennifer Lawrence, Ariana Grande, Meryl Streep, Matthew Perry and more.
After being teased back in October, Netflix has now unveiled the film’s first trailer. The just-over-a-minute long clip reveals minuscule details about the motion picture’s plot, but it does show DiCaprio and Lawerence — both of whom play astronomers — that an asteroid is on it way to hit the Earth and wipe out all of human life as we know it. In the trailer, they’re both shown trying to convince Meryl Streep — who stars as the president of the US — and Jonah Hill — who plays her son — of this impending disaster, but both of them are reluctant to believe them.
The A-list film is slated to drop in select theaters come December 10 and will be officially available to stream on Netflix on Christmas Eve. Peep the full trailer here above.
