Two days ahead of its release, Netflix has now dropped a chilling trailer for its live-action Resident Evil adaptation featuring the Wesker family on the run. While there’s not much context offered for the clip, we see Albert Wesker instructing his two daughters Billie and Jade to escape from what seems like the compound we’ve seen in earlier trailers before Wesker covers himself with what appears to be blood from a dead dog.
As for the series overall, the plot jumps back and forth between Jade Wesker’s childhood with her father and sister and 2036, 14 years later. Jade is left to survive in a post-apocalyptic world where zombies run rampant and “mind-shattering creatures” roam the land. “In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the sinister Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.”
For fans of the franchise, Netflix’s live-action Resident Evil will premiere July 14.
