Netflix has released the first teaser for its upcoming Addams Family spinoff series, Wednesday.
The series was announced during the first day of Netflix’s Geeked Week. Although the 30-second teaser does not reveal much about the show, it is confirmed that Jenna Ortega would star as Wednesday herself. The series is set to be directed and executive produced by Tim Burton — his first big television project — and his spooky aesthetic will most likely be present and will be in line with the upcoming series.
The series will be eight episodes long and the plot is said to follow Wednesday as she attends Nevermore Academy:
“Wednesday is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting 16-year-old Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Season One will follow Wednesday as she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.”
Elsewhere in entertainment, Netflix dropped a trailer for its live-action Residential Evil series.
