Netflix has dropped off the first teaser for You season three, along with its official release date.
The series’ next installment follows Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) and Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti) on their post-marriage move to Northern California’s Madre Linda, where they have decided to settle down and raise a child. There, they find themselves surrounded by judgmental mommy bloggers and Insta-famous biohackers, and while Goldberg becomes dedicated to his new role as a father, Quinn’s destructive tendencies swiftly manage to stir the pot.
“People these days will name their kids anything to get attention,” Goldberg narrates in the teaser’s opening, presumably speaking to his newly-born child. “And despite your mother’s background and your Glamma’s determination to refer to you as Forty reincarnated, I know better.”
“A boy is not what we expected, and I would be lying if I said the thought of a mini-me was purely exciting and not without, uh, challenges,” he continues. “Let’s just say, I’m hoping you’ll do as I say, not as I do. But for you, I can change. I’ll be a man you can look up to. A man you will be proud to call Dad.”
The visual then reveals that Goldberg’s son is named Henry, before a knife cuts into a white-frosted cake with lettering welcoming the newborn. In the final sequence, a perfectly cut slice reveals the next installment’s release date: October 15, 2021.
The cast also employs Saffron Burrows, Tati Gabrielle, Dylan Arnold, Shalita Grant, Travis Van Winkle, Scott Speedman, Michaela McManus, Shannon Chan-Kent, Ben Menhl, Chris O’Shea and Christopher Sean.
