Netflix‘s Formula 1: Drive to Survive series has debuted its first official trailer ahead of its return next week for Season 5. Heading behind the scenes once again, fans will be able to witness first-hand how drivers and teams battled it out for the 2022 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
“The higher you rise, the sharper the knives. The best way to become unpopular is to win,” says Red Bull Team Principal, Christian Horner.
The 2022 season was no doubt one of the most dramatic seasonsin recent memory as we witnessed a change of guard with signs we’re heading into a new era of dominance. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen clinched his second straight driver’s championship and the team took home a Constructor’s Championship for the first time since 2013, ending Mercedes‘ winning streak over the past eight-years. However, it was far from smooth sailing this season for anyone as new adjustments to the grid began to unfold at more than 200 miles per hour.
“This season, Formula 1 has changed beyond recognition,” British Formula 1 presenter Will Buxton says in the trailer.
The series is executive-produced by Academy-Award winner James Gay-Rees and Paul Martin for Box to Box Films.
Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 5 is set to premiere on February 24 exclusively on Netflix.
