Since its premiere in 2019, Netflix‘s Formula 1: Drive to Survive series has played a pivotal role in attracting a new audience to the world of motorsports. It’s reported that its latest Season 4 episodes attracted the biggest audience to date, charting in Netflix’s weekly Top 10 in 56 regions.
Continuing that momentum, Netflix and Formula 1 have confirmed that the Formula 1: Drive to Survive has been renewed for a fifth and sixth season, covering this year’s F1 Championship season and the next. The docuseries offers exclusive interviews with team principals and drivers, and behind-the-scenes footage as teams prepare for a race weekend, capturing the rollercoaster of emotions that come with the triumphs and tribulations.
Formula 1: Drive to Survive is executive produced by Academy Award winner James Gay-Rees from Amy and Senna, and Paul Martin (Diego Maradona). Look for Season 5 of the series to release around March of next year.
