In a community post on YouTube, NBA YoungBoy has teased plans to drop 10 mixtapes in 2022, a milestone that he is already more than halfway to reaching. Additionally, the Baton Rouge native announced his next full-length effort, Ma’ I Got a Family, which will mark his sixth project of the year.
The forthcoming project is set to include between 13 and 17 tracks, according to the rapper. YoungBoy revealed that the record will debut “this week,” though he did not disclose an exact release date. In line with the mixtape’s family-inspired title, the cover artwork features the 22-year-old artist next to his fiancée Jazlyn Mychelle and their two children.
Following the records’ announcement, YoungBoy Never Broke Again teased four additional projects, with a screenshot of a note reading, “Fun challenge ‘10 tapes 1 year ??’” He captioned the post, “I’m finna be on 6 you think I can do it ?”
YoungBoy has had quite the year already, having released projects including Colors, Better Than You, The Last Slimeto, Realer 2 and 3800 Degrees. If he’s able to successfully pump out four additional projects before the end of this year, he will exceed the single-year release records of Lil Wayne and Gucci Mane, according to HipHopDX. The all-time record, however, remains in the hands of Lil B, who put out 16 mixtapes in 2012.
Stay tuned for his next release, Ma’ I Got a Family, later this week.
