Mystery Jeep Pickup Concept a Vessel for New Mopar Parts Rollout

Mystery Jeep Pickup Concept a Vessel for New Mopar Parts Rollout

Instead of its annual jam-packed gathering in Las Vegas, the SEMA show is hosting a virtual event this year to celebrate the aftermarket parts industry and culture. This predictable—in 2020—twist hasn’t stopped Mopar’s plans to showcase some sweet Jeep Performance parts. Ahead of the “event,” Mopar has released a sketch of its new Jeep concept that will debut at the modified 2020 SEMA show.

The concept appears to be a decked-out Jeep Gladiator. Whatever it is gets a box over the cargo bed, as well as a beefy roof rack and a massive spare tire. Of course, the concept wouldn’t be complete without prominent Jeep Performance Parts badging.

Mopar probably wants to gauge public interest in parts that could end up in its future catalog, so we may very well see some of these bits on Jeep vehicles down the line. Today, Mopar offers more than 500 factory-backed parts and accessories for the Jeep lineup.

Meanwhile, the 2021 Jeep Gladiator receives a host of big changes for the new model year. The biggest is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 with 260 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. All Gladiators can be optioned with full-time four-wheel drive, Selec-Trac, which consists of a two-speed transfer case and 2.72:1 low range ratio. Gladiator Rubicons get a part-time Rock-Trac system with a 4.0:1 low range ratio. Finally, Jeep is adding an off-road-ready Willys trim as well as an upscale 80th Anniversary Edition.

We’ll learn more about the Jeep concept during the virtual SEMA360 show which takes place next week.
