Following the series’ sixth season, My Hero Academia has announced the franchise will return for a fourth movie. While fans wait for the seventh season to air, it’s been confirmed that the upcoming film will have an original story that focuses on the aftermath of the season six finale’s explosive events.
While a release date and official title for the film have yet to be unveiled, Kōhei Horikoshi, My Hero Academia‘s original manga creator, will serve as the film’s general supervisor and character designer. The untitled film comes nearly two years after the franchise’s third film, My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes’ Mission, which premiered in August of 2021. The franchise’s first film My Hero Academia: Two Heroes film debuted in Japan in July 2018, and the second film, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising in December of 2019.

Horikoshi shared in a statement posted on the series’ website: “I want to share the excitement that manga movies have given me to boys and girls around the world . But I’d be happy if I could give back! This time, just like in the past, the content will be in line with the time series that was broadcast in the TV anime. The stage of this time will be a society that has finally collapsed safely in the anime. Look forward to what the grown-up Deku will fight and what they will protect!”
