Muhammad Ali To Be Inducted Into WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024

The legendary Muhammad Ali will officially be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2024.

Set to take place in early April, the iconic fighter will be inducted by his widow, Lonnie Ali. While many have known him to be a professional boxer and activist, Ali has had a brief stint as a professional wrestler. Ali famously fought against Japanese pro wrestler Antonio Inoki in a match in Tokyo back in 1976. Prior to that, he challenged Gorilla Monsoon, which led to appearances in other WWE events. Ali was a special guest at the WrestleMania I in 1985 and also a guest of honor in the infamous North Korean event in 1995 called “Collision in Korea.”

Ali is often considered to be the best boxer of all time, winning an Olympic gold medal for the U.S. in 1960 and later becoming the undisputed world heavyweight champion of the world. Upon finishing his career with his final boxing match in 1981, he had 56 wins, 5 losses, with 37 knockouts. Ali has also been a force outside of boxing, known for his social activism. When he refused to draft for into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, his title was stripped away and forced out of boxing for years. Prior to his death in 2016, Ali had a public battle with Parkinson’s disease. The induction will be livestreamed on Peacock on April 5 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with the event beginning at 10 p.m. ET.
