1. Your me-time should be non-negotiable

“It is essential for working moms to take out time for themselves each day. Whether it’s waking up early for a peaceful morning routine, engaging in regular exercise, or enjoying a hobby, setting aside time for self-care can rejuvenate the mind and body, enabling mothers to better handle their responsibilities,” says the expert.

2. Maintain a healthy diet

While a mother is trying to make sense of how to strike the work-life balance, maintaining a healthy diet is key to sustained energy levels and overall well-being. Plan and prepare nutritious meals in advance to avoid relying on processed or fast food options. Also, ask them not to forget to have mini meals in between and much on healthy snack options.

3. Keep your body moving and stay active

“Staying active is crucial for working moms to combat sedentary lifestyles. Find physical activities you enjoy, whether it’s going for a walk, practising yoga, or joining a fitness class. Even while we know working mom struggles are for real, aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days of the week to boost your energy levels, improve cardiovascular health, and reduce stress,” shares the expert. 4. Never rule out the importance of a good night’s sleep

Adequate sleep is often overlooked but vital for overall well-being. Establish a consistent sleep routine, ensuring you get 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night.

5. Learn coping mechanisms to avoid getting overwhelmed

The life of a working mother can be challenging and overwhelming. Ask her to seek therapy, if needed, or teach her some effective organisational strategies to reduce stress and maximize productivity. Problems in daily life are somewhat inevitable, but ask your mom to learn to cope healthily by learning various skills for the same.

6. Connect with fellow working mothers for better life and support

We mostly feel understood by others who live a life similar to ours. Ask your mom to connect with other working moms who the challenges they all face. Engage in supportive communities and connect with people your mom can resonate with.

“Sharing experiences, seeking advice, and forming friendships with like-minded individuals can provide valuable support, reducing feelings of isolation and enhancing overall well-being,” shares the expert.
