Moses Sumney Unveils ‘A Performance in V Acts’ Concert Film

Multidisciplinary musician Moses Sumney has announced his forthcoming concert film A Performance in V Acts.

Coming behind Sumney’s 2020 Live from Blackalachia album and full-length feature film, the new concert film also taps into the artist’s Grae repertoire. As the album from Sumney never got the chance to tour due to several reasons including covid, A Performance in V Acts represents the final extent of Sumney’s poetic second studio album.

“A Performance in V Acts marks the official end of the Græ album cycle,” said Sumney in a release. “It’s a capsule of our headline show since we will not be touring the album after all. This film also ushers in a new period of creativity for me—one in which I take a continued break from making albums and touring music to focus on other disciplines.”

Bringing forward the concert film announcement is a trailer showcasing clips from the film alongside an extended video of Sumney performing a cover of Björk’s “Come to Me” and “Doomed.” In collaboration with YouTube’s Black Voices Fund, A Performance in V Acts premieres Wednesday, August 31 on YouTube.
