Moneybagg Yo‘s A Gangsta’s Pain is currently the highest-selling hip-hop album of 2021 so far, surpassing the likes of J. Cole‘s The Off-Season, DJ Khaled‘s KHALED KHALED and Young Thug and YSL Records‘ Slime Language 2.
According to reports, A Gangsta’s Pain has sold a total of 777,000 units to take the lead and is followed by The Off-Season at 723,000 units and Pooh Shiesty’s Shiesty’s Season with 712,000 units. Other big albums that made it to the current top 10 are Polo G’s Hall of Fame with 708,000 units, Rod Wave’s SoulFly with 686,000 units, Doja Cat’s Planet Her with 651,000 units, Lil Baby and Lil Durk’s Voice of the Heroes with 557,000 units, Lil Tjay’s Destined 2 Win with 533,000 units, Slime Language 2 with 477,000 units and KHALED KHALED with 475,000 units.
A Gangsta’s Pain marked Moneybagg Yo’s first ever No. 1 album, earning a total of 110,000 equivalent album units, including 106,000 in streaming equivalent album units (147.4 million on-demand streams of the tracks), 4,000 in album sales and under 1,000 in track equivalent album units.
