Memphis rappers Moneybagg Yo and GloRilla have teamed up for a new cut, titled “On Wat U On.” The track, which marks the first collaboration between the CMG heavyweights, arrives with an official music video inspired by John Singleton’s 2001 movie, Baby Boy.
In the visual, Moneybagg Yo and GloRilla recreate heated couple-fighting scenes from the coming-of-age comedy-drama. Moneybagg Yo plays Tyrese Gibson’s Jody, and GloRilla depicts Taraji P. Henson’s Yvette, as the track’s lyrics play into the intensity of their on-screen moments.
“Let me know right now/If there ain’t no future us,” Bagg raps on the first verse. “‘Cause, one, too close to zero/Got to keep somethin’ on tuck.” GloRilla takes the second verse: “All that tellin’ folks I’m crazy/Tell ‘em how you got me f***** up/Yo’ mama ain’t got no daughters/Boy you ain’t them b****** brother.”
Last year, GloRilla emerged with her viral hit, “FNF (Let’s Go),” which earned her a record deal with Yo Gotti’s CMG and subsequently lead to additional charting tracks, including a Cardi B collab, “Tomorrow 2.” The artist released her debut EP, Anyways, Life’s Great…, in the fall.
Meanwhile, Moneybagg Yo has been in the game for quite some time. He shared his last album, A Gangsta’s Pain, in 2021; and more recently, he delivered a new single, titled “Quickie.”
