Released independently through the act’s label Rock Action, Every Country’s Sun ends the chart week some 2,900 combined sales ahead of the second-placed effort, Ghetts’ new arrival Conflict of Interest (Warner Records), the OCC reports.

“It is 25 years this week since the release of our first single ‘Tuner/Lower,’ the first release on our own label Rock Action Records,” reads a statement from Mogwai. “We didn’t start the band or the label to get into the charts. None of us ever envisaged either the band or the label being in a position where having a No. 1 record would be a possibility.”

Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia (Warner Records) continues to climb following the release of its “Moonlight Edition.” It’s up 4-3, while The Weeknd’s The Highlights (Republic Records/XO) lifts 4-3 and Ariana Grande’s former leader Positions (Republic Records) bounces 33-5 following the release of its deluxe edition.

Meanwhile, Olivia Rodrigo parks “Drivers License” at No. 1 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart for a seventh week.

It’s the longest streak since Tones And I’s “Dance Monkey,” which logged 11 weeks at No. 1 between October and December 2019, a record for a female solo artist.

“Drivers License” collected 5.6 million streams last week to hold off Lil Tjay & 6LACK’s “Calling My Phone”(Columbia) and Nathan Evans’ “Wellerman” (Polydor) remix with 220 Kid and Billen Ted, respectively.

The highest new entry belongs to Ella Henderson & Tom Grennan, whose “Let’s Go Home Together” (Atlantic) starts at No. 28. It’s Henderson’s seventh Top 40 appearance and Grennan’s first, though he does manage to double-up on the current frame as “Little Bit Of Love” (Insanity) rises 45-32.
