Modest Mouse announced on Wednesday (May 5) that the rock band will release its first album in six years, The Golden Casket, on June 25 via Epic Records.
The Grammy-nominated troupe released the first single “We Are Between” the same day, with a visualizer that illustrates the title of the album in its most vibrant form. Dave Sardy and Jacknife Lee produced the album in Los Angeles and in Modest Mouse’s Portland, Ore.-based studio. Throughout The Golden Casket, frontman Isaac Brock explores themes ranging from fatherhood to invisible tech through punk and experimental techniques.
Modest Mouse’s highly anticipated seventh studio album serves as the follow-up to 2015’s Strangers to Ourselves, which shot to No. 1 on both of Billboard‘s Top Rock Albums and Alternative Albums charts.
