Mitchell & Ness and Tom Brady dreams of what could’ve been with a new release of a Montréal Expos jersey. For OG Tom Brady fans, some would know that he could have become an MLB legend.
On December 12, aka Brady Day, the seven-time Super Bowl champion will be featured on a baseball trading card for the first time while Mitchell & Ness will release a Montréal Expos jersey in honor Brady. In an alternative reality, Brady could have pursued an MLB career instead of one with the NFL. In a commercial from Topps and Mitchell & Ness, the clip entertains the idea that Brady would have prevented the Expos from moving out of Montréal to become the Washington Nationals baseball team. In the 1995 MLB Draft, Brady was drafted in the 18th to the Expos but he chose to pursue a football career after getting a full scholarship to be the quarterback at the University of Michigan.
Brady’s first Bowman card will feature him in a Montréal Expo jersey. The release will include 81 base Brady cards and 81 autographed cards. Leaning into the retro jersey trend, a No. 12 Brady Expos jersey will also be available for purchase. Mike Mahan, CEO of Fanatics Collectibles said, “We want to do things that are unique and differentiated, and when you gain that trust of the athletes, leagues, and partners, it just completes the circle and that helps us make things feel bigger and more important to really galvanize not only the collecting community but the sports community at large.”
The jersey will be available on December 13 online at Mitchell & Ness for $300 USD.
Welcome to the Bradyverse.@Topps created a world in which Tom Brady, who was drafted by the Expos, played an entire MLB career. Can you imagine this?! 🤣 #BradyDay https://t.co/KwjSLTy2oi pic.twitter.com/V3qVMrtqqp
